Zebra Crossing and the Cathkin Estates offers visitors an unique opportunity to unwind and de-stress. With balmy evenings, enjoying both the mountain views and game that wonder freely.

The house comprises a lovely kitchen with state-of-the-art facilities, including oven, (stove), microwave and all other crockery, cutlery, pots, pans etc.

Open-plan, large lounge with satellite television (DStv) and dining area with 6-seater table.

The fireplace makes for cosy winter evenings. Enjoy balmy evenings on the undercover patio area with built-in barbeque/braai, again, with mountain views. There are 3 bedrooms each with a bathroom. Luxuriously appointed linen and towels are provided in all rooms.

Attractions

Walk on the estate for as long as you will, exploring the natural vegetation and spotting the Zebra, Eland, Oribi, Blesbuck, Wildebeest, Porcupine, many bird species, wild flowers and try to Identify all the peaks, including Intunja (the mountain with a hole right through it!).

Zebra Crossing is lcoated in the champagne valley and a walk away from the Monks Cowl Country Club.

Fiona Stewart (Meet and Greet) +2782 780 1356 From Durban: A) Along the N3, pass Shell Ultra City and take the Exit 194, Winterton/Bergville/Colenso(R74) glide off. Turn left and proceed for 20km to Winterton. Opposite the Engen garage, turn left onto the R600 CENTRAL BERG road. Proceed for ± 13km to the crossroad junction. B) (Or a short cut But not used at night) Along the N3, take EXIT 179. Estcourt North/ Giants Castle/Loskop/Central Drakensberg. Travel for approximately 20 minutes, until the crossroads. Turn left into the R600 and follow ********** Cross straight over and continue for ± 11,9 km. You will pass The Nest Hotel and Champagne Sports Resort, and the turn-off to the Drakensberg Sun Hotel (off to the right). Continue towards Champagne Castle Hotel, and take the next turn-off to the left, 0.8km, sign-posted 'Champagne Valley / Mountain Splendour Caravan Park / Golf Course / Champagne Lane'. Immediately after the low-level bridge, turn to the left, and PASS Monks Cowl Country Club and Champagne Valley Resort. Tavel another 1km after Champagne Valley Resort pass the entrance to Inkungu on your right. The Entrance to Cathkin Estates is in front of you. Please tell the guard that you are going to no. 52 - Zebra Crossing. Keep on the main road through the estate for approximately 2km. You will see a dam on your left. Drive over the dam wall and at the first road, turn left. No 52 - Zebra Crossing is the first house on your right. Fiona and Ian live at no. 48 and one of them will meet you with the keys. You have arrived! From Johannesburg: A) Scenic Route: CAUTION: Do not follow this route in wet or freezing conditions Johannesburg to Harrismith on N3. At Harrismith take EXIT 29. Turn right onto N5 towards BETHLEHEM/BLOEMFONTEIN. (Follow the Alternative Route To Durban signs). You will see the Engen Truck Sop, Spur Village and The Harrismith Inn on your left Proceed for ± 5km; turn left onto the R712 QWA-QWA/BERGVILLE road. Proceed for ± 10kms. Turn left again on the BERGVILLE/OLIVIERSHOEK PASS road. Continue past Sterkfontein dam, down Oliviershoek Pass, straight through Bergville and onto Winterton. Opposite the Engen garage, turn right onto the R600 CENTRAL BERG road; proceed for ± 13km to the crossroad junction. ******* See above B) Freeway Route: Johannesburg to Van Reenen's Pass on the N3. Take the first glide off after the Tugela Toll Plaza, which is at the bottom of Van Reenen's Pass. Turn left for ± 4 kms on the N11 and then turn right towards WINTERTON onto the R600. You will cross over the N3 concrete highway. At the T-junction (R74), turn left towards Winterton. In Winterton, opposite the Engen garage, turn right onto the R600 CENTRAL BERG road. Proceed for ± 13km to the crossroad junction. ******* See above Alternatively: you may continue on the N3 from the tollgate towards Estcourt (for about 38kms), until you reach EXIT 194, the R74/BERGVILLE/COLENSO/GREYTOWN glide off. Turn right over the bridge and proceed for ± 20 kms to Winterton. Opposite the Engen garage, turn left onto the R600 CENTRAL BERG road. Proceed for ± 13km to the crossroad junction. ******* See above
