The Luxuriously appointed self-catering chalet each have spectacular mountain views. 3 twin-bedded bedrooms (one open-plan in loft with private dressing room) and 3 bathrooms with shower, one with bath & shower. Champagne Castle has long been considered one of South Africa’s premier mountain holiday destinations for the family. Catering for all children, whatever their ages, is a crucial component of our entire management focus and it is for this reason that we offer so many activities to keep them entertained.

In the evening children under the ages of 8 are allowed into the hotel restaurant between 19.00hrs and 20.00hrs and thereafter they have the choice of either partaking in board games or watching DVD’s in our informal lounge adjacent to the restaurant or going to our games room. Alternatively, children may enjoy an early dinner in the restaurant between 5.30 and 6.30pm.

Prior bookings is essential. Babysitters can be arranged for the evenings for a nominal fee. 24 hours notice is required.

Weddings

Held in our Environmental Centre, wedding receptions have become a much sought-after event at Champagne Castle Hotel. Please take note of the following conditions attached to staging your wedding reception:

• A maximum of 80 people can be accommodated for wedding receptions. • Due to the proximity of the venue to the hotel rooms and chalets, we regret to advise that only soft background music is allowed. • We have recently built a beautiful chapel with the most magnificent view of the majestic Drakensberg mountains. There is seating for 50 people and by opening the glass sliding doors, there is standing room for a further 25-30 people. Conference Our Environmental Centre has been described as one of the great settings to hold your conference, presentation, or workshop. There are two varying sized rooms that can accommodate these functions, depending on its size. This is a spacious and beautifully situated room overlooking the mountains and surrounding scenery. The room opens up onto a curved verandah, allowing guests to spill out for the purposes of tea, refreshments, finger lunches, braais and private dinners. Details: • For workshops and presentations this room accommodates 120 people in a cinema-style seating arrangement. • For conferences, the room seats a maximum of 40 people in a school-room or U-shaped configuration. • Refreshments and tea provided for conferences. • Equipment provided: Fixed data projector, large drop-down screen, and a Home Theatre system for video, DVD, CD or TV. This includes laptop connectivity. Also offered are a flipchart, lapel microphones, stand-alone microphones and a podium. • Wireless Internet available. This smaller room commands an air of sophistication and exclusivity. Everything from the furniture through to the accessories is beautifully appointed. Details: • Accommodates a maximum of 20 people seated board-room style. • Equipment provided: Drop-down screen, dry white board, flipchart. • No data projector. (Available at an extra cost) • No laptop connectivity. • Wireless Internet available. Private Dinners & Functions Please Note: Due to the proximity of the venues to the hotel rooms and chalets, we regret that only soft background music is allowed. This is a spacious and beautifully situated room overlooking the mountains and surrounding scenery and opens up onto a large curved verandah. Details: - For private dinners this room accommodates up to 80 people. - For cocktail parties, the room can accommodate up to 150 people. - The verandah is ideal for pre-dinner drinks of up to 80 people or even dinner for small parties of up to 20 people. - Please note that the patio is only partially covered so is only available, weather permitting. - Equipment provided: Podium, Lapel microphone, stand-alone microphone and Home Theatre system for video, DVD, CD, TV, and laptop connectivity. This small room commands an air of sophistication and exclusivity. Everything from the furniture through to the accessories is beautifully appointed. Details: - For private dinners, this room accommodates up to 20 people. - For cocktail parties, the room can accommodate up to 60 people. The thatched-roofed open-side Boma is situated near the pool and overlooks the mountains and surroundings scenery. Details: - For private dinners, the Boma can accommodate up to 36 people under thatch or up to 140 people if the surrounding lawn is utilized. - For cocktail parties, the Boma can accommodate up to 60 people or up to 140 people if the surrounding lawn is utilized. - This venue is only suitable, weather permitting. • Menus provided as a buffet meal are charged out at a per person rate. • This charge includes the hire of the venue, table setting and service. • Cost does not include centre table arrangements, drapery, music or bar. • Only soft background music allowed. • Surcharges applicable for functions less than 12 people. • All private dinners/functions to close by midnight.
